Her mother

She was just a little girl when her mother and her had to move to another place. Her mother had problems with her marriage, and she didn't want the child to do anything to do with them.

Her mother was a strong woman. She was a delicate rose that had to learn how to use her thorns to bear all the harshness of this pitiless world. Alone. 

She probably felt alone. It was probably very hard for her, too. But the child never realized that because her mother always seemed so strong. Therefore, when she cried silently, sitting on her bed, the child couldn't fathom why her mother was sad. 

She probably had her heart broken, her dreams, shattered, for she had trusted a man who didn't treasure her like he should have. She may have been terrified of the future. She probably wondered if she could make it.

Now she had to face the duty of raising her child, alone. She had to work very hard to provide for her education, food, clothes, endure problems with her family, endure the child's complains about the place, endure her child's suffering and her own. 

She probably felt guilty for having her child go through that ordeal. She probably felt like she had failed.

Still, somehow, she managed to heal. The child, to this day, still wonders how she managed to do it. She managed to provide her child everything that she needed. She also found happiness in other things. She strengthened her bond with her sisters. She found a treasure in her daughter, and her daughter gave her a reason to keep going. 

And, now that the child finally understand all this, she feels immensely proud to have such a mother that never gave up even when life was ruthless to her.
