Original short story: my experience

Writing our original short story was, overall, a great experience.
First, we thought about the genre of the story. Did we want it to be a sci-fi story, a horror story or a romance story? In the end, we chose a romance story because we thought, who doesn't like romance stories? and, besides, we had some knowledge on the matter (just to clarify, I mean that some of us had read poems and romance books, haha).
Then, we had to design the plot. That was the hardest part for me, but not for our amazing classmate, Doris. It seemed like whenever I found a problem with the plot, she quickly made an explanation for it; it was great!
After this, we thought about the setting. We thought that a book inspired in El Salvador would be great (even though my mind kept going back to England for some reason), and it turned out amazing. We wrote a description about the characters, we made an outline of the most important events of the story, and we were good to go.
The actual writing part was one of my favorite parts. I loved imagining things and putting them on letters. I loved playing with words and creating images with them. It truly felt like magic. The only hard part was finding the correct words, but even this was fun. I loved learning new words and understanding their meanings. It took me forever to write a paragraph, but it was worth it in the end.
When the book had been completed, we designed a cover for it. Then, we put it together on an online reader. After this, I worked on the audio of the part I was assigned to do. This turned out to be the easiest part for me and really enjoyable, too.
When I listened to the audio, and when I saw the final product of our short story, I felt really accomplished. So, in conclusion, it was an amazing experience, and I would like to do it again, I'll just work on my English vocabulary in order to make the writing process easier for me. 😉
